The Reception and Transformation of Greek Astronomy in Islamic Civilization

World renowned scholar George Saliba from Columbia University will deliver an illustrated talk exploring the manner in which Islamic Civilization appropriated the Greek scientific tradition and reformed it by adding, at times, completely new scientific disciplines to respond to the Islamic worldview.

This lecture is part of the ‘Inspired by Signs Lecture Series’ and is co-presented by Aga Khan Council for Canada, Aga Khan Museum and Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies.
